Applications to the Trust are closed for 2008. Information on 2009 Bursaries will be available in August.
The Trust offers bursaries to young people who have signed up for an overseas expedition experience and subsequently suffer a significant change in family circumstances and finances which will prevent them from continuing with this opportunity. These may arise from parental separation, job loss, illness or a bereavement. Preference is given to those who demonstrate their determination to succeed despite such adversity.
30 bursaries of either £250 or £500 are available each year, and will be awarded to the most deserving applicants. Bursaries are awarded to young people whose personal situations have genuinely changed, perhaps due to parental separation or a bereavement in the family, and who are able to demonstrate their determination to succeed against adversity.
Bursary applications are assessed once a year at the end of May and successful applicants will be informed by mid June.
In the past we have supported young people taking part in expeditions with British Schools Exploring Society, World Challenge and Yorkshire Schools Exploring Society and will consider applications on behalf of any approved organisation that promotes personal development through outdoor education.
To apply for a Bursary please download the Form and Guidelines. We look forward to receiving your application.
